The Australian Government Leadership Network
Queensland Chapter

The Australian Public Service Commission believes that viable, active, and strong regional networks of Australian Government senior leaders provide valuable opportunities for collaboration, professional development, and mutual support.

The Australian Government Leadership Network - Queensland (AGLN-Q) has been established to facilitate the effectiveness of senior leaders of the Australian Public Sector by providing a forum for:

  • leadership development

changing innovative thinking, ideas, knowledge and experiences

    peer support and collegiality

facilitation of whole-of-government approaches to Australian Public Sector activities

contribution of members to the development of local and strategic Australian Public Sector initiatives and

reduction in the impact of geographical isolation from national offices.

Membership of the Australian Government Leadership Network - Queensland is open to all senior leaders of the Australian Public Sector in Queensland.

Associate membership is available for all executive level Queensland based public servants. Membership is free.

Everyday leaders, extraordinary journeys:
Generating and using influence

As leaders, one of our responsibilities is to bring people with us. We also know that if results are to last, we can’t just produce lip service. How do we inspire those around us? What can we do to generate respect and trust, including from people who aren’t in our line of authority? How do we maintain and utilise credibility?

At this breakfast, three Queensland public service leaders will share insights from their personal journey, including successes and failures, and how they generated and used their influence to deliver better outcomes for staff and the community.
