Executive Breakfast

Everyday leaders, extraordinary journeys:
Generating and using influence

As leaders, one of our responsibilities is to bring people with us. We also know that if results are to last, we can’t just produce lip service. How do we inspire those around us? What can we do to generate respect and trust, including from people who aren’t in our line of authority? How do we maintain and utilise credibility?

At this breakfast, three Queensland public service leaders will share insights from their personal journey, including successes and failures, and how they generated and used their influence to deliver better outcomes for staff and the community.

Ian Stewart APM

Queensland Police Service

Commissioner Stewart has been instrumental in leading the QPS through the Renewal Program and the Police and Community Safety Review, the most significant period of reform since the Fitzgerald era.

He has implemented a visionary, holistic program of organisational renewal for the QPS to convey an integrated service delivery model that meets community expectations and delivers value for money.
